The two-day event took place at the university’s serene and picturesque campus in Ishiala Umudi\, Nkwerre Local Government Area\, and was attended by distinguished dignitaries\, including the Executive Governor of Imo State\, His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma\, and the First Lady of Imo State\, Barr. Chioma Uzodimma. \n \nThe convocation celebrated the university’s remarkable achievements\, with an impressive array of academic and infrastructural milestones. Hezekiah University\, fondly called “The University of the Moment\,” has been committed to academic excellence and strong moral values since its inception. Founded by the visionary and faith-driven Most Reverend Professor Daddy Hezekiah O.O.N\, the university has grown from offering ten academic programs to a diverse range of 19 fully accredited courses\, all approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC). \n\nAs a faith-based institution\, Hezekiah University stands out not only for its academic prowess but also for its world-class facilities. These include state-of-the-art classrooms\, science laboratories\, a Moot Court\, Radio and TV studios\, an Olympic-sized sports complex\, and well-furnished student hostels. This lecture set the tone for the events\, offering insights into the state of education in Nigeria and the need for transformative reforms. \n\n\n @unihez  \nHezekiah University’s maiden convocation ceremony was a momentous occasion\, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history. The event took place on March 8\, 2025\, at the university’s sports complex. During the ceremony\, the university conferred honors on its graduating students\, and the Chancellor\, His Grace Most Rev Prof Daddy Hezekiah\, charged the graduands to be good ambassadors of their alma mater. The university’s Vice-Chancellor\, Prof. Anthony N. Okere\, expressed joy over the occasion\, congratulating the graduates\, senate\, and attendees for collectively sustaining the Chancellor’s hopes and aspirations. One of the highlights of the ceremony was the conferment of an honorary doctorate degree on Chief Barr. Chioma Uzodinma\, the wife of Imo State Governor\, Senator Hope Uzodinma\, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to women empowerment and girl-child advocacy. The Imo State Governor\, Senator Hope Uzodinma\, who was also in attendance\, assured that the state government would continue to partner with Hezekiah University to promote quality education in the state. He also commissioned the university’s Academic Complex and Mother Mary Okanu-Onukogu Male Hostel. These additions further enhance the university’s commitment to providing students with an environment conducive to learning and growth. The inauguration of the Alumni Officers added another milestone\, bringing together Hezekiah University graduates to support the institution’s future. \n \nThe convocation ceremony culminated on Saturday\, 8th March 2025\, with the award of first degrees and the conferment of honorary degrees. One of the highlights of the ceremony was the honorary Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) awarded to Barr. He also expressed his commitment to transforming the education sector in Imo State through various reforms and policy changes\, including fostering a stronger partnership between public and private educational institutions. \n \nIn his remarks\, the Governor acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to improve Nigeria’s education system through initiatives such as the Students’ Loan Programme and increased funding for education at all levels. Governor Uzodimma also commended the quality of education at Hezekiah University\, emphasizing the state’s continued collaboration with the institution. \nThe university’s Proprietor and Chancellor\, Most Reverend Professor Daddy Hezekiah\, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his support and emphasized the importance of government funding for private universities to remain competitive with public institutions. Awards to acknowledge the achievements of exceptional students\nof the University were given to brilliant and talented students that showed various\nlevels of uniqueness. Awards are ways of encouraging good behavior and\ninculcating competitive spirit that will make the students work hard. These\nwonderful students exhibit qualities that will not only help them in achieving their\ngoals\, but also bring glory and success to the University. \nMiss Economics\nFrom the department of Economics\, my name is Ngameduru Loretta Chidinma and with a glad heart having had the opportunity to receive this wonderful award of Miss Economics 2017\, I say a very big thank you to everyone who vouched and voted for me. Economics department is one of the departments in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences in Hezekiah University and with all evidence\, it has and will continue to be one of the best department on campus. The department of Economics have given its students a healthy and fairly competitive environment to help them grow in every sphere of activity\, both academics and other extra-curricular activities. Equal opportunities have been given to all the students in this great department of  Economics so that the students can realize their true potential and get ready to face the outside world once they complete their studies in the University\, and I am much pleased to accept with a humble heart the award of Miss Economics 2017 as a sign of excellent performance and potential leader. \nBest Dressed\nHolding up to the moral standards of this Great University\, I have been privileged to be awarded with the title of Best Dressed 2017\, by name Okide Eunice Chidinma. Decent dressing is something one should be very proud off\, we are addressed where ever we go by the way we dress and present ourselves\, and we don’t need to be naked or dress inappropriately before we can look good. DESCRIPTION:SIWES FOR THE PIONEER STUDENTS \nThe Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) is a programme organized to enable students acquire practical experience in their field of study. The experience enables the students to learn the usefulness and applicability of their field of study to the outside world. \nHezekiah University is very proud as the pioneer students embarked on their six (6) months Industrial Training having met all requirements and came back fully loaded with excitements and testimonies. \nListen to the students: \n \nSIWES REVIEW BY THE PIONEER STUDENTS \n The Industrial Training (IT) was a great experience for me because of the practical nature of computer science. I am indeed\, proud and glad to be one of the pioneer students that went for the Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). UZOMA CLINTON\, DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE. \n\nThe SIWES was absolutely a wonderful experience for me. It gave me the opportunity to see the practical aspect of all I have been studying in school and how it is applicable in real life. I believe that SIWES is a programme that should be encouraged globally and in all departments. ODOZOR LOVETH\, DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE. \nI am glad that my department took part in the SIWES programme. I really learnt a lot in the six months industrial training (IT). DESCRIPTION:Conference/Workshop on Very Large Databases\nSome students and a member of staff in the Department of Mathematics/ Computer Science\, Hezekiah University Umudi\, were given scholarships to attend a Conference/Workshop on Very Large DataBases (VLDB) which took place at the Distant Learning Centre of the Prestigious University of Ibadan\, Nigeria. \nAmong a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students\, instructors\, scholars\, and researchers from all over the country that applied for the conference/workshop\, fortunately\, four students and a member of staff of the Department of Mathematics/Computer Science\, Hezekiah University\, were invited. The students are Odozor Loveth Amarachi\, Azodo Maryann Gold\, Ugowezie David .N.\, and  Osita Ujunwa .O.\, and the lecturer is Mr. Ayetuoma Isaac .O. \nThe conference was organized by Professor Jenifer Widom of the famous Stanford University England (who has more than 25 years experience as an instructor in Computer Science)\, in collaboration with the Association of Computer Machineries (ACM) Ibadan Chapter. The workshop covered the areas of Big Data Analysis\, Collaborative Thinking and Women in Technology.  \nIt was Quite an Experience\nThe four day workshop was sponsored by many firms and big organizations such as Google\, Total\, Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) Ibadan chapter\, Stanford University\, among others. It was quite an experience because of the practical and hands-on nature of the workshop. \nA PICTURE WITH THE INSTRUCTOR\, Professor Jenifer Widom of the famous Stanford\nUniversity England.
