The Faculty’s philosophy is in consonance with the mission of the University which is anchored on “training people that would be God fearing, morally promising, intellectually formidable and selfless nation builders, who would contribute immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria and the world at large” and the University’s vision of being world renowned. The focus of the Faculty is to produce high quality man-power, rich in knowledge, competence and skill possessing enterprising leadership for socio-economic development. The philosophy of the Faculty rests among others on:
- Providing sources of instruction for the pursuit of learning in all areas of Management and Social Sciences;
- Encouraging and promoting scholarship and research in allied fields of learning and human endeavour;
- Evolving academic programmes to suit the changing social and economic needs of the society;
- Attract and retain quality teachers, scholars, and researchers for developing human capital;
- Encourage entrepreneurial development and leadership skills, and
- Produce internationally reputable graduates that could compete favourably with their peers anywhere in the world
Minimum Entry Requirements
Candidates seeking admission to any of the Faculty’s programmes must have obtained at least five (5) credit passes in the SSCE/GCE O‘Level//NECO/NABTEB or its equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings. DEAN FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT & SOCIAL SCIENCES
Professor Anuolam Onyema Moses JP was born in Amaeke – Avutu, Obowo to the family of late Anuolam J. Maduakor (Onye Isi Aladimma) and Mrs. Teresa A. Anuolam in 1955. He attended Corpus Christi Primary School Avutu, St. Paul’s secondary school Ikunanzizi and Immaculate Conceptini Seminary Umuahia for his primary and secondary education (SLC and WASC & London GCE Certificate). He did his pivotal course at T.T.C Uzuakoli and later proceeded to India in 1977 for his degree. He studied at the University of Madras and came out in a first class. He proceeded to the University of Delhi on Imo State Scholarship for his Masters and Doctorate Degrees. He visited Austria for some short courses and later came back to Nigeria in 1987. After his NYSC HE joined the Federal University of Technology Owerri where he served as the HOD Project mgt Tech. and Associate Dean (SMAT). He had a short stint in Imo State University (now Abia State University Uturu) and Michael Okpara University, Umuahia. He later served as a Board member of Imo Self Help Organisation (ISHO), a non- governmental organization; He joined Gregory University, Uturu as one of the Pioneer staff and served as the head of Dept. of Accountancy, Economics, Management and Insurance. Currently, he is the Dean of the Faculty of mgt and Social science, Hezekiah University, Umuahia.
Professor Anuolam has published forty six journal articles in local and foreign journals, ten textbooks and a number of workshop proceedings. He has graduated well over twenty Ph.D. students and a host of Masters and undergraduate students. He is the chief editor of a number of journals and is widely travelled. He is a fellow, British Society of Commerce, certified public Accountant member, British Institute of Mgt and member chattered Institute of Administrators.
He was a member of the Project Implementation Committee of Hezekiah University, Umudi.
Prof. Anuolam is happily married to Evang. Mrs. Charity N. Moses and is blessed with twelve children from this union (six boys and six girls)
