Admission through the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME)

Applicants who have sat for the University Matriculation Examination (UME) may be admitted into the first year degree programme if:

They attain the approved UME minimum scores ;

By the first of October of the year of admission they possess at least one of the following qualifications. The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) or equivalent certificate with credit level passes in at least five subjects, including English Language obtained in one or two sitting. The Teachers’ Grade two Certificate with credit or merit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language;
They satisfy the Faculty/Department entry requirements for the programme of their choice as approved by Senate;

Such candidates may however be further screened by the University as the Senate may from time to time prescribe.

Admission by Direct Entry

Applicants for admission by direct entry shall:

possess Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) or equivalent certificate with credit level passes in at least five subjects, including English Language obtained in one or two sitting;

satisfy the Faculty/Department entry requirements for the programme of their choice as approved by Senate.

possess at least one of the following qualifications:
2 (two) subjects passed at the advanced or principal level of GCE/HSC;
Passes at the credit/merit level in at least two major subjects in the NCE;
A minimum of a lower credit pass at the ND in the relevant discipline;
A first university degree or HND or its equivalent;
Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB);
Any other qualification acceptable to Senate.

Admission by Inter-University Transfer
A student in good academic standing, who has spent at least one academic year in a recognized university, may apply to the Hezekiah University for admission by inter-university transfer. Such a candidate may transfer to continue with his current programme of study or transfer into a new one. Transfer shall not be allowed into the first or final year of any programme.

A candidate requesting transfer shall:
have Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) or equivalent certificate with credit level passes in at least five subjects, including English Language obtained in one or two sitting;

Satisfy the Faculty/Department entry requirements for the programme of their choice as approved by Senate;

Satisfy faculty/department transfer requirements. Return a completed transfer form, obtained from the Registrar at the prescribed fee;

Ensure that the Registrar of his current university forwards his full transcript to Hezekiah University.

Please note that:

All completed transfer forms shall be processed by the Dean of Faculty and the Head of Department to determine appropriate course of study, waivers, year of study and the year of admission

The results of the above shall be presented to the Admissions Committee of Senate for consideration and approval.

If admitted, the student shall:

earn waivers for only those relevant course passed in his previous university;
receive a formal letter of transfer/admission from the Registrar stating the department, the programme into which admitted, waivers granted, the year of study, the session the candidate shall be registered in and any other relevant information.
All transfers shall be completed before the registration week of each academic session.

Admission by Pre-Degree

Offer of admission shall be made to those candidates who have successfully completed the Hezekiah University Pre-Degree Programme and who:
possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary level) or equivalent certificate with passes at credit level in at least, five subjects obtained in not more than two (2) sittings and including at least, two science subjects chosen from Agricultural Science/Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics/ Mathematics, Health Science, Home Economics/Home Management, Physics or any such science subject(s) acceptable to Senate.
pass the final examination in the Pre-Degree programme with at least, 200 marks and attain the approved UME minimum score for the University for that year.
scored at least, 50% in the subject (s) required to remedy any deficiency in the Faculty/Departmental entry requirements.
Pre-Degree students who pass the Joint University Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB) qualify for Direct Entry admissions into the second year programme in the University or other universities of their choice.

Student Matters

Prospective Students

All prospective students are advised to visit the University website for information on admission procedures. The University does not contract out students’ admission processing and you are therefore advised not to deal with any third party or individual whatsoever. New Students

  • All newly admitted students should report to the Admissions Office with their qualifying certificates for physical clearance.
  • All such certificates shall be verified by the University;
  • Once cleared, the student should procees with online registration;
  • In addition to completing of the online forms, students will be required to submit their  biometric data;
  • Candidates on completion of their registration should print out their forms and submit to the Admissions Office;
  • On completion of registration each candidate shall be issued a matriculation number.

Returning Students

The registration of students for the two semesters in a session shall take place in the first week of the first semester of each academic year. Both full-time and part-time students shall complete registration within the designated period for registration;

  • Students should register only the courses prescribed for the session
  • Returning students with carry over courses should consult their staff Adviser for guidance before registers.
  • In all instances students must first register for courses they failed in the penultimate year before registering fresh courses.
  • Before uploading the list of registered courses, the student shall print a copy of the form and take it to his academic adviser for final approval.
  • A registered student of the University may apply for voluntary withdrawal from the University.
  • A registered student of the University may make corrections on the courses he registered for in a given semester with the ADD/DROP form which may be obtained from his Faculty Secretary. The Head of Department after endorsing the form should forward it to Management Information and Communication Technology Unit (MICTU). No course may be added or dropped after the first three (3) weeks of the semester.

Late Registration

  • The period for registration shall run for one week at the beginning of every session;
  • At the expiration of the above period, registration on the the portal shall be temporarily suspended;
  • A late registration window will be granted for students that are yet to register;
  • Late students must pay the prescribed penalty fee for access to the portal for registration;
  • At the expiration of the late registration window, any student who has not registered will be assumed to have withdrawn for the year;
  • Such student shall be required to repeat the previous academic year the following session;
  • The penalty fee shall be paid by students who started the registration process early but could not complete it within the initial registration period.
  • The penalty fee payable depends on when the registration was eventually completed.
  • All registration shall end within the second week of late registration.  Only on exceptionally strong reasons as may be determined by the Vice-Chancellor, can any student be registered after this time.
  • Upon the close of late registration, every prospective new student or old student of the University who had not formally withdrawn from the University or had not deferred his/her admission, shall be deemed to have forfeited his offer of admission or his/her studentship as the case may be for the session.

The Chancellor/Promoter of Hezekiah University, His Grace, The Most Rev. Prof. Daddy Hezekiah MFR, JP, AMBP, NFNY, who is also the Founder and Leader of Living Christ Mission Inc., has magnanimously paid N100,000.00 for each of the 500 pioneer students of the University. Thus the first year school fees of pioneer students which is N350,000 is reduced to N250,000 per student. WHAT A GREAT FEAT!

NOTE

 

  • In addition to the above fees, a non-refundable acceptance fee of N15,000; Medical test fee of N4,000 and a caution fee of N20,000 are payable by all fresh students.
  • There is also a self-contained apartment in the hostel at an additional fee of N20,000 per student in a room of two occupants.

Student Services

Catering Services

The University has a cafeteria run by the Catering Unit. Meals are relatively cheaper for the students than they are obtained outside the campus. Besides, healthy food items are ensured as well as cleanliness.

Students Centre

There are students’ shopping and relaxation facilities on campus where students can purchase some basic necessities such as hair salon items and services, make photocopies of materials, etc. There is also the University Bookshop.

Health Services

The University provides health services to all students in a modern clinic on campus. The clinic has full complement of medical and paramedical Personnel. When the University is in session, the services of the clinic are available to all students who are registered with the clinic. Upon admission, students are required to submit to the clinic, among other things, medical report obtained from source approved by the University. In addition, a current identity card must be presented on each visit to the clinic. Students who have not completed their registration formalities may not receive attention from the clinic in case of ill-health except in emergency circumstance.

Student Accommodation
