Accounting

Programme Philosophy:

The philosophy and objectives of the department is to produce Chartered Accountants with appropriate knowledge, skills and attitude, to handle the ever-growing and changing accounting environment. The philosophy of accounting discipline is to produce graduates with critical mind, requisite ability and skill to analyze, comprehend, predict and influence the factors that shape and mould accounting relationship/interactive marketing, in an ever-changing socio-political environment in a global economy.

Admission Requirements

The criteria for admission into the programme are as follows:

UTME Candidates

  1. West African School Certificate, General Certificate of Education, Ordinary Level or Senior Secondary Certificate with passes at credit level in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Economics obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.
  2. The National Examination Council (NECO) certificates with passes at credit level in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics,and Economics, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.
  3. West African School Certificates of Education (ordinary level) with advanced level subjects. But no subject shall be counted twice and the five credit level passes shall not be in more than two sittings.
  4. National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) certificate with passes at credit level in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Economics, obtained at not more than two (2) sittings.

Direct Entry Candidates

  1. The applicants should possess five (5) credit passes in the GCE or equivalent examination, at least two of which shall be at the advanced level provided that subjects are not counted at both levels of the examination. The credit passes at the ordinary level must include English Language, Mathematics, and any other two subjects.
  2. OND in relevant discipline with at least upper grade in addition to the five credit passes as in (i) above.
  3. HND in relevant discipline with at least lower credit in addition to the five credit passes as in (i) above.
  4. Final Certificate discipline with at least lower credit in addition to the five credit passes as in (i) above.
  5. Relevant Diplomas with a minimum of upper credit and certificate including degree from universities or institutions recognized by Hezekiah University, Umudi.
