Admission through the Universities Matriculation Examination (UME)
Applicants who have sat for the University Matriculation Examination (UME) may be admitted into the first year degree programme if:
- They attain the approved UME minimum scores ;
- By the first of October of the year of admission they possess at least one of the following qualifications. The Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) or equivalent certificate with credit level passes in at least five subjects, including English Language obtained in one or two sitting. The Teachers’ Grade two Certificate with credit or merit passes in at least five subjects, including English Language;
- They satisfy the Faculty/Department entry requirements for the programme of their choice as approved by Senate;
Such candidates may however be further screened by the University as the Senate may from time to time prescribe.
